holy crapppp it's been forever since I've had time to sit down and post some stuff on here. life has been eating away at .. my life. ew. i suppose i'll go back to where i left off last time ... hotpot and the summer palace!!  we stopped to get money ... "customer advice" haha.   GIANT TOPIARY DRAGON.  BFSU arches :D  NO HORNS! one of the best signs EVAR. we need to have more of those in the US ...  hotpot building  ... happy sheep?     DELICIOUS HOTPOT :D  SQUATTTTY POTTTTTY. it wasn't so bad but i try to avoid at all costs. lol. okay here i'm cutting out some of the more boring photos of the summer palace, but if you want to see more, you can always go to my flickr photostream; the link's on the right with all the others.   The dragon boat can take you across the lake for a price, and we were cheap and didn't bother lol.     oh gee, this looks familiar ...   the Olympic mascot, Nini. Their names (in order) are: Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, and Nini. If you just take the first part, it's "Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni" or "beijing welcomes you". They're called the Fuwa in China. My Nini is a sparrow :D and the amount of pictures goes on. most of them look the same hahaha. nonetheless, the summer palace was BLOODY AMAZING, let me tell you! hot, too. they have GREEN APPLE FANTA in China, did you know that? it's very refreshing ... overall the summer palace was worth the 30RMB (~$4.40) to go in. I even got a souvenir map of it! It's very off-scale, though, so. The ... 2nd? We went to Tiananmen Square andddd the Forbidden city. Tiananmen Square first. And I stole some of these from my friend Bri, so. No narration until i see fit.         IT WAS HOT OUT, OKAY? D: I look fat, but i've lost weight. ... also notice CHAIRMAN MAO HAHAHAHA. yeah.  Outside the FC. MAO!  More outside the FC.        Okay, i was really hot and ran out of my apple juice an bri took a photo of me and this is the face i made at her. Bradley (white shirt) is chillin', and Sam (grey shirt) is not praying, no, but rubbing sunscreen in his hands. We are all strange.  In front of the lion things. Dog actually? I think. Bri told me, hell if I remember.  Sam (grey), Sam (pink) and me chillin' in front of a metal crane. Yes i was using my inhaler, i just went up like 50 steps arg. (Sam D. is in my room talking to me and we're talking about things about China) I slept like the dead that night, and my legs were KILLING ME. Next! Temple of Heaven. Uhhhh the 4th of September? Much to my dismay, it was STAIRS. I hate stairs D:   All of us togather!   Blue stone dragon things. Excellllllent.   DO YOU SEE HOW MANY STAIRS I HAD TO CLIMB D:  Don't remember why standing on the stone was good, but we did. Bri (blond) and Sam (pink shirt).           A KITTEH :D  Paralympic topiary. We went to the Pearl Market after the Temple of Heaven; I bought some new Chucks for 75RMB (~$11!!!!) and a pashmina scarf for like 30RMB (~$4.40!!!) after bargaining. Sweet. The our tour guide bought us some fish sammiches and veggie sammiches, and then we played with a Jianzi! CLICK HERE TO SEE IT, youtube is being dumb ... Then ... THE GREAT WALL!!! The drive there took like 1.5-2 hours, and we were slowly going up in elevation ...  This was the market before we began to go up. It was an effing STEEP HILL that was ridiculous to walk up, especially since we were going to walk all the way up. That was where my downfall was. It was 600 meters (about 2000 feet) from where we were to the top ... and most of it was stairs. It was killer. I was in so much pain. Two of the girls stayed with me for a while, but then they decided to go find Dr. Mousettis (our accompanying professor) to see if there was any other way that I could go up ♥ they're SO SWEEET! I love you, Karen and Derly! Sam L. walked with me all the way up (she's also got asthma, so we made a great pair.) It took like ... and hour and a half, but we made it.  The top of the Great Wall!! There were three choices for going down: 1. The stairs 2. The ropeway (skilift) 3. The toboggan Sam and I decided to go down the ropeway, it was only 30RMB.         The little village and shops at the bottom of the skilift. going back on the bus.      NO CARS ON FIRE!!!!! we still don't know what this sign is telling us NOT to do ... I was so tired after that D: I just laid in bed the next day hahaha. RANDOM:  Olympic mascots! Blue is Beibei, Panda is Jingjing, Red is Huanhuan, Yellow is Yingying, and Green is Nini. There are all of these murals by our dorm in Beijing about the Olympics.  ONE WORLD, ONE DREAM!! and this entry is long enough, I'll post more later.
